Pasqualina: Ice Cream History
 

Established in 1912, La Pasqualina has roots going back many decades… a long and layered history worth telling! It all started with Pietro Daina and Pasqualina Locatelli, husband & wife who founded L’Osteria dei Cacciatori in Almenno San Bartolomeo (5 miles N/E of Bergamo) in the early years of the twentieth century… a family-run Trattoria that was later transformed into a cafe & restaurant by their nephews (Bar Trattoria Preda). After WWII Franco Schiavi and his wife Lisetta renovated the place entirely, inaugurating Café La Pasqualina: expansion has been relentless since then and the reputation of Café La Pasqualina has grown steadily. Today Riccardo Schiavi (Franco and Lisetta’s nephew) has taken over the operation and opened a new store in downtown Bergamo, ensuring the continuing tradition of the historical Pasqualina brand!
