"106 years of flavour and the selection of the finest products have made Pasqualina one of the most popular Italian shops in the province of Bergamo, a guiding light of eclectic gourmet food of quality. Riccardo wants his project to be unique: to return to the origin of the ingredients and the production process. Besides the product and service, this vision characterizes all his products. That is true for everything, from viennoiserie, baked cakes, and leavened products to gelato, one of the few in Italy without food additives (thickeners, emulsifiers, food colouring, chemical flavouring, hydrogenated fats, and powdered milk) to better enhance the flavour of the ingredients and make the gelato lighter and more digestible.
The shops in Almenno San Bartolomeo, Bergamo, and Porto Cervo are the final result of work that starts from the bottom and is totally appreciated only after tasting the gelato, coffee, croissant, or apple cake made with extra virgin olive oil. After traveling near and far, through the hamlets and villages of Italy to meet each producer that supplies ingredients for his products, Riccardo decided to buy two hectares of land to grow his own fruit and vegetables. Pasqualina is a place where culture is created, an aesthetic and ethical homage to the artisan world, and it is an entrepreneurial challenge."
We often remind ourselves that “self-praise is no recommendation", but it is our duty to report that we received the Gambero Rosso Illy Bar of the Year award twice (in 2016 and 2019). The last time we won by presenting our classic Panettone Christmas cake and our bread, both made with fresh sourdough starter, a tomato sorbet, and a unique DOP Strachitunt savoury gelato.
There's a little bit of ourselves in everything we offer you. We want to make sure that the flavour of our products reflects the tradition and artisan workmanship of which we are proud. In every flavour, you find much of our essence and work.
All the biscuits, cakes, and sauces that we use in our gelatos are made in our kitchen, and we even roast the coffee. Each day we carefully select the fruits and vegetables that we grow in our own Lalli’s Vegetable Garden to always be able to serve you something that reveals a little bit about us and our history.
